Should we make our own tour or go for one of those pre-made tours for a trip to Australia?

do your own tour and get stuck in the rain forest.

In my opinion, it’s best to do your own exploration. Ask the locals for suggestions on what they think you should see in their area. They would know better than some tour guide. Plus, you wouldn’t have to follow a set schedule.

Hey, I live in NZ and used to live in Australia and trust me it would be a lot cheaper to plan your own trip because there are 7 of you the costs are split down a lot. If you are good at organisation and planning then definitely plan your own trip but if you guys aren’t so good with planning then a pre-made tour might work out better. I prefer self planned trips as its more flexible, you can decide last minute to stay a few days longer in certain areas or shorten your trip if you don’t like where you are.

always venture off on your own. a tour is for silly bloody tourists

It depends how much work you want to do. Going on a tour is much easier considering they do all the work for you. I personally would go on a tour if it was just going to be my group on the tour I don’t think I would want to have the experience with a bunch of people I didn’t know. I think the best thing to do is take a tour with just the 7 of you. That way you can tell the tour guide exactly what you want to do and see. Good Luck and have a good trip!

I would do it myself yet use tours for the scuba diving and outback, i.e. to ayres rock/uluru.

you can do a lot yourself, but would definitely reccommend going on tours for scuba diving and that type of thing so you have someone to look after you.
i live in australia and have been scuba diving twice and snorkelling in the great barrier reef 3 times and have always gone with a tour. there will be otehr tourists and aussies on baord, and they usually provide transportation from your hotel to the boat and lunch. they are also a lot more knowledgeable about where you are more likely to see marine life.

if your planning to see thing outside of the cities I do strongly recommend taking a prepackaged tour, as not being familiar with the country you won’t know what the hazards are or how to be prepared for them, a sizable number of foreign tourists die because they were not adequately prepared for our conditions and it’s usually for reasons that many Australians see as idiotic

make you’re own tour. you’ll meet heaps of people who’ll help you when you get stuck.

if you do want to take a tour here are 2 i would do:

    1) in the outback organise a professional guide

    2) in Melbourne get a tour guide for the city town. you can see some awesome stuff that’s hidden if you don’t know it’s there

You can take a package tour for your long trip. I find a lot of good US and Australia tours in the following website you can go and choose one.
