    6 months is a fair while! You could pick up a cheap wagon and road trip it, that way you’ll see a lot more than flying from capital city to capital city and it will be an adventure!

    Petrol is expensive here if you’re coming from USA but if your from Europe then it’s cheap (maybe you could get a “dual fuel” car so you can run LPG in the cities as it’s less than half the price of Unleaded Petrol and most petrol stations sell it, and use ULP in the country where LPG is scarce).

    There are quite a few camping grounds/caravan parks around which should only cost $10-12 AUD per person a night where you can pitch a tent or sleep in the wagon/van and access bathroom and washing facilities.

    Youll be able to find maps and camping ground guides online, if not then ask your travel agent and get a hard copies of this material.

    Best = Quickest = Plane

    Cheapest = Bus

    Actually, you’ll see more by bus, but a lot of what you’ll see (i.e. the outback) isn’t worth seeing.

    The cheapest is hitchhiking and it is still safe despite the occasional murder. It is more difficult these days as there are more freeways and motorways around.

    buy a car dude, seriously heaps of people buy them. pick up a cheapy for like $500 bucks. if it breaks down leave it on the side of the road. at least if u are driving u can see the real australia

    Forget hitchhiking!! Look up they are a company of campervans, cars etc that need returning to there original destination for a fraction of the real price. If you can take their camper back from A to B they only charge a $1 per day rental, if they are desperate for it they pay petrol too. Look it up its a great way of travelling Oz if you are not stuck to a timetable, and you see more of the real country than flying. If you have to fly look up and you can compere all OZZY flight prices in one go. Good luck and have a great time.
